Album Notes
Sharon Coates lives a life surrounded by art. Her untethered approach to songwriting results in music that is an exciting, honest and refreshing depiction of our collective experiences. Sharon's wry sense of humor often brings a lightheartedness to songs that feature themes of nature, evolution and the passage of time.

"Sharon's latest release, 'Strange World', thoughtfully depicts her view of the world through the lens of an artist. Musically it playfully blends acoustic singer-songwriter with expansive, ethereal rock. Lyrically Sharon confidently guides us through our 'Strange World' with wonderment, insight and wit," say Dave Drago, owner of 1809 Studios in Macedon, NY and co-producer on "Strange World"

Whether as a musician, glass artist or landscape designer, everything Sharon does expresses her inner-self and her need to create beauty and connections to this world that we all live in.

Strange World
Excellent debut album from a multi talented artist performer. Strange World takes us on a lyrical odyssey, revealing many facets of the writer's view of the world. Good music with some depth behind it, Strange world steps outside the conventional in a most appealing way. Easy t0 listen to, this album also provides a journey thru states of mind, a pleasant way to spend your time.

"Where Things Aren't What They Seem"
What I like best about the music of Sharon Coates is that while I never know where a song is going next, I do know it’s going to a good place.

It’s as though I’m on the best ride at the amusement park and I am loving the entire experience, not just the beginning or end or the cool middle. I love it from the start and find myself imagining how it will go. But it doesn’t go where I think it will, because it’s not a ride on a track, it’s a song that can move anywhere it wants to, and the surprising places Sharon takes her listeners and the mood she creates, is where I want to go and am sure you will want to as well.

When the first song was over I was sad, pretty sure the next song would disappoint because that’s how CD’s tend to go for me…I might really like one or two songs while the rest are just ok. But not this CD. Listening to these six tunes is like listening to a “Best of” album, because in this EP, we have a collection of six great songs.

Quite simply, when you settle down to listen to Strange World, you are in for a treat.
