Album Notes
There was something of a problem-ette with the original: That being the production was rushed in order to meet a deadline, and the resultant 'noise' was of a lower standard than it should have been.

This time round, though - well it's a remix; so it can't be wrong a second time - surely?

I intend this single to be the second one in a series of three; my “Election Trilogy” of singles, if you like. (I'm casting my mind back to 2013 when I created a "Summer Trilogy" of singles: * Hometown *, * Deejay (Remix) *, and * Why Don't You.? *.

I’ve budgeted for this. The good thing is that I now appear to have at last secured funding. It’s not yet set in stone; but it appears to be good for now; for the time being. The fact that I’ve been almost 5 months without any funding has depleted resources: Although my balance sheet is still healthily in the black; there has developed a credit bill which needs to be repaid; so I’ll be paying that off for at least the rest of this year in dribs and drabs. – And that’s going to limit how much music I can produce in the second half of this year to some degree – despite the welcome increase in income.

‘All swings and bloody roundabouts. I’m thinking of asking Theresa May – after she’s got her new cabinet established in their various roles (A ‘remixed cabinet’.) – if I can have a position of “Minister of Music” within a Government-funded QuANGO (Quasi-Autonomous Non-Governmental Organisation.) – Yes I did commerce lessons as a part of my education. Although I never actually took the exam I still remember a fair bit of it.

– So that’s all for now. – Keep your eyes on the music charts, and if you see my name there it’ll be a bloody miracle.

Do stream and download my remixified release when you witness its birth from the muzzle of the music-machine-gun that spits bullets of tuneful attempts at hit singles; and remember that there’s even more Conservative tunetasticism yet on its way before polling day.

...And now: The Lyrics: -

The lyrics for the remixed version are exactly the same as they are with the original version: It's the instrumentals that are remixed.

...And there's some deviation in the ending from the original. I honestly can't be bothered to specify it here. I suggest you try listening if it matters that much, OR, if you are unable to hear it for whatever reason - get someone who can hear it or has heard it to explain it to you.

...And finally; because I can, and because it fills a hole - a hole that I created by adding space, while at the same time eradicating it by filling it - I'm going to reprint the notes from the original version of this track below: -

* True Blue * : Conservative Music For the 2017 UK General Election

That’s exactly what *True Blue * is. – Or, put another way, as I advertised it in early pictorial ads: “The sweet sound of election victory.”.

Surely that’s overly cocky and rather blaze’? – Well yes I guess you could say that; but what chance of winning do the other parties actually have? In a number of places the Lib Dems and the Green Party have failed to field their candidate, and have urged their supporters to vote Labour – just for the intended purpose of hopefully unseating the incumbent Tory M.P.

To me such ganging-up by political parties which aren’t forming a coalition and have different individual policies tells me a lot: Those parties have no confidence in their own policies having a hope of gathering enough supporters together to gain themselves a majority great enough to elect their candidate as a regional Member of Parliament. – In other words the only reason for the existence of those minor parties is to gather a protest vote against mainstream politics and to continue in the hope of perhaps one day forming a coalition with one of the mainstream parties in the case of a hung parliament. – Other than that they are a wasted vote.

And then there’s the Labour Party: Along with and opposite to the Conservative Party they form the mainstream political divide between Right and Left Wing. At times either party veers further to the Left or Right. Currently the Conservative Party appear to be leaning toward a more central stance under Theresa May; whereas the Labour Party are leaning further towards the Left under Jeremy Corbyn.

The problem is that most people don’t like Jeremy Corbyn as a political figure; and that’s understandable:

He leans far too far towards Socialism and he lacks leadership qualities and charisma. – He’s a nice enough person; but he’s not right for the position of leader of the Labour Party. As a result; few people – even many of the Labour faithful – want to vote for him – because they just don’t trust him to deliver a good deal on splitting from the European Union in the Brexit negotiations like they do with Theresa May… And that’s why I’m next to certain that the Tories are going to win, and it‘s the reason why I’m already hearing ‘ the sweet sound of election victory ‘.

So how and why did * True Blue * come to be? – Well up until fairly recently I was a Liberal Democrat voter… Until I saw how pathetic they were in government in coalition with David Cameron’s Tories during the recent Hung Parliament. At that point I realised that my vote had been wasted in voting for a non-mainstream party. Yes the Lib Dems were in power in the early 20th Century, true; but that was ages ago and has no relevance for today. It was Labour or Conservative: that was the choice.

Well the last Labour government, a centrist government under Tony Blair and then Gordon Brown, had all but bankrupted the country – again, as they always do – prior the Tory-led Hung Parliament.

I also knew that my political leaning was right of centre anyway; and so it made sense to become a Tory supporter and start voting Conservative. All this happened around 2010 up until 2015 – when my religious allegiance also switched from Pagan to atheist. – I don’t know if there’s any relation between the two. I doubt it; not directly anyway. – Just getting older and maturing with more common sense perhaps?

One day recently I’d just had a political debate with a staunch Labour supporter; the girlfriend of Mogs – the artist who I’ve worked with, who inspired the comedy track on my album * I’m a Person, Not A Genre’ *, and also wrote the lyrics to and featured in the contemporary electronic folk music tracks on that album. I’d never met Tash, and I found her to be rather judgemental and up herself. When she found herself losing a political debate with me she started feigning offence at nearly everything I did and said, and withdrew from the debate by de-friending me on Facebook, having ganged up on me with another Labour activist.

I decided that – bearing in mind the forthcoming election – I should become more politically active myself. I was mindful of Marc Almond; who was himself a Tory activist during his early days with Soft Cell, to the consternation of other band members who were all of a different political persuasion.

I decided that – since the Tories had at least 2 musicians on their side – the coming election win should be to music, and since I didn’t see Marc Almond doing anything towards his own effort – or not as was the case – it was down to me to create a Tory election melody.

– I had next to no time to create something worth listening to. –

When I create music I don’t just play and sing: I write the lyrics, I play the music, I sing the song, I record it all. I edit and mix everything, I do the mastering, I create all the artwork, I write all the notes… I do everything apart from distributing the work to retailers. I gave myself 10 days to do all that, and release the track on the 3rd Friday in May 2017. On Friday June 9th 2017 no matter what the result of the UK General Election, the track * True Blue * is not going to be listened to much if at all. – Therefore I have just 3 weeks – between Friday 19th May and Friday 9th June 2017 – in which to promote the Hell out of this track and sell as many streams and downloads as I can. – Bearing in mind that * True Blue * will probably only sell to Conservative voters.

So today it’s Monday May 15th; and I’ve been in the studio all weekend – which I never usually do – working on getting a decent draft of * True Blue * created. Rehearsal gave me draft #1 – which was shit; but it was a rehearsal, so it was to be expected. Draft #2 was barely passable; the sound needed fattening up – but the vocals were using a megaphone effect, which sounded sucky. Also I’d used far too much gain when mixing the vocal track with the instrumental track.

Today (Monday 15th May) I finished draft #3 of * True Blue *. Its not perfect – but I’ll have to run with it; like it or not. I have to be published by Friday, and it’s just crept into Tuesday while I’m writing this piece. – So no time to lose.

I’ve made the tune to be light and jolly; because that’s how we Tories are; not dark and brooding with a conviction that life is out to get us like the Labour crowd are in the main.

* True Blue * is a happy number, about our happy leader, Theresa May. – Presenting a slightly more hip and pop-cultured image of her than is commonly portrayed: Because Theresa May is a people’s politician. She’s not just standing for the rich and the privileged; as is the common misconception about Tory politicians. Theresa is standing for and on behalf of the workers as well as the bosses. – ‘Standing for the many as well as for the few. She will lead this country out of the EU and on into an age of prosperity… But it won’t be easy. – That’s why we Conservatives need YOU – whoever you are – to join with us and to vote Theresa May’s government in on June 8th, and ensure that she gets the mandate she needs and deserves so that she can fulfil her intentions, and so that this country can benefit as a result.

Let’s make sure of a prosperous Britain – Let’s make sure we vote Conservative on June 8th.

Let’s ensure that Labour don’t end up giving everything away to the EU bureaucrats because of their weakness, leaving the UK with nothing but misery and poverty as they again bankrupt what’s left of the nation.

Also; let’s all listen to * True Blue- Remixed * repeatedly in the run-up to the election; the day we all make the right choice; to go out and vote Conservative.
