Album Notes
This song was actually a requst from Khwaja ji at Ajmer Sharief. Shashika visited the dargah in July 2014 and felt that Khwaja ji wanted a song from her first before she embarked on her album of romantic songs with Mumbai composer Rajeev Mahavir. She confided in Rajeev her feelings and he was absolutely enthused with the idea of composing. The next few months saw the two focus all their effort into bringing about this melodious, soulful song. The lyrics also were written by Rajeev Mahavir.

In the studio Rajeev reminded Shashika that he needs to hear that little six-year old girl who is sitting in the mosque and singing. It was a moment of surprise for Shashika as she realised that actually at the age of six she did sit in a mosque at school and simply marvel in its ambience.

The two agree that this song has haunted them from the day they started 'working' on it. As Rajeev would say, 'we are not working, we are doing music'. It was no doubt that this song carries an energy from the higher realm.

Shashika also adds that she was sent to Ajmer by Shri Krishna Himself, who told her that He is there as well in her singing. After the song was completed, Krishna gave the title Manzil Tu Hi.

The duo then went to Ajmer to thank Khwaja ji for the beautiful song and what happened on that day was surprising. What they thought would be just a visit to offer thanks at His dargah turned out to be the day that He actually wanted to release their song. Suddenly media arrived, interviewed them about the song, had them sing it also and that was it. It was clear that Khwaja ji asked for the song, He accepted their devotion in composing, writing and rendering this song and He blessed them by personally arranging the release of the song too.

This is the greatness of Dargah Sharief.
