Album Notes
Mudslides tend to cover everything in their paths. This album, HONKY TONK MUDSLIDE, rolls along in similar fashion. The album starts by paying homage to the great Hank Williams Sr. The incomparable sounds of a B- Bender Telecaster add some serious twang as this album starts rolling.
Once in motion, the album flows smoothly. This group of original songs rolls through topics ranging from love, desperation, social disease and drug addiction with wit, honesty and charm. "i've really tried to write more about the human condition, and less about myself", says Cole.
Honky Tonk Mudslide wraps up with a voice message received from Rick Springfield. Cole explains: "I endured a rough night in Deshler, NE. My merchandise was stolen, and my sleeping camper was rolled onto its side. Once word of this reached my friends and fans I received a tremendous outpouring of generosity and support."
Cole tours constantly, and performs more than 200 shows each year. His schedule seems to keep him out of this studio. This is his first solo project in over five years.
