Quality all the way.
This CD has a little bit of everything. I am more into traditional or straight ahead jazz, so I enjoyed "TL Special", "Footprints", "Hope", and "Invitation" the most. But, I was really taken back by all of the other tracks on this album as well: the original compositions and the standards (interesting treatment of Chelsea Bridge!). This is just a high class, high quality effort with some real music being made. I highly recommend this CD.

No Shortage of Class :)
My name is Dawn Iverson. I have spent almost 30 years of my life listening to jazz, and have heard all kinds of great performers and their music. But I have to say that the brother on this CD just has IT! I found myself almost clinging to my stereo, wondering what would come next from this CD. Each jazz standard has its own flavor to how it was done. Footprints was almost Coltranesque, Invitation had a dark a somber approach. It should have been more like "Invitation?" Then Summertime had an almost adult contemporary feel to it, but had much more teeth than that smooth jazz stuff on the radio. Most of all, I loved the original compositions. The playfulness of Hope, the take charge sound of The T.L. Special, and the thoughtfulness in Shenole Latimer's playing in Time Flies all had me wishing that the CD had at least twice as many songs as it does. I am just really impressed with this CD and I am definately going to tell as many people as I can about it.

Great !!
Wonderfull Music. The Purchase of this CD is a "hit the mark" "Een schot in de roos" (in Dutch). Footprints and Time Flies are peaks! Greetings from Holland

do yourself a favor!
This CD has classic written all over it! I bought this CD because a friend told me about it and Shenole Latimer. At first I thought the CD was a little pricey, but now after listening to it - man was it worth the money. Do yourself a favor and get this CD!

Just Simply Amazing.
The original songs are incredible and I also like the treatment done with the jazz standards. I think my favorite song is "Hope". I also like how "Summertime" has a funky feel to it, but is not done cheaply like a smooth jazz track. My opinion...a great album by a great sax player.

this guy is for real!
this cd is almost flawless. i said almost because i would have loved for there to be another couple of songs. that would have been worth the fifth and final star! never heard of shenole latimer before this but the way this cd plays i bet i'll be hearing more about him soon.

Kicks ass!
This cd is one of the best I have heard in 2007 and I listen to a lot of jazz. Shenole's tone is gorgeous and full. The sidemen play effortlessly together sheer joy shines through every track on this cd. All the solos are TASTY. No showboating here, just great playing and very nicely recorded.
My favorite track is 4(Hope). I'm a sucker for soprano sax, a notoriously difficult horn I hear to play in tune. I won;t go into every track on the cd as I easily could, pointing out all the subtleties and ,as I said before, just plain joy you feel from these guys/ Buy this cd and crank it up. I only hope I get to see them play in person. It's criminal Shenole is not widely known but it tells me there's a lot of unknown talent out there. I look forward to your next album man. Get on it!
Jazz lives!
