ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"Forever and Always" is the debut album from The Shep Shapard Project, an East Coast Indie/Pop/Rock solo project from Michael "Shep" Shapard.

After being involved in various collaborative projects from 2003 to 2006 (This Boys Trouble of Fredericksburg VA and Faraday of Washington DC), Shep decided to start his own project and to start writing songs by himself. He loved collaborating with other people, in fact it was the only way he knew how to write and play music, but he also thought that it would be great to be able to make all of his own decisions and write all of the songs for a project. Maybe it would be a side project, maybe his main project (who cares)... One thing he did decide turned out to be very crucial:

He decided that most of his decisions would be made without much thought (maybe he should have thought about that one a bit more). Given the quote from (some guy), "Life is too important to be taken seriously," he decided (to some degree) that so is music, and so is being in a band or writing music. He decided that this time around that most of his decisions and music would come straight from the heart without caring about "Is it good enough" or "how should I portray myself." He decided that "if it sounds good, it sounds good," musically and otherwise-...ly.

Enough of the third person! "Forever and Always" isn't a collective group of songs that all come from one part of my life, they don't have any intentional connection, and they aren't supposed to sound one way or another. They are simply 10 different songs that I wrote about different things that I like to play and share with people. I hope that they can be whatever you need to them to be and that they give to you all of the great things that they have given me.
