Elemental Children of Earth

by Shining Wheel Pagan Chorus

This second album from Shining Wheel is an eclectic collection of divinely-inspired songs; it ranges from rollicking rock & roll to moody introspection, with a little hippie drum circle thrown in for good measure! Good pagan fun for all!

Album Notes
"... we can't wait for their second album!" _New Witch magazine
Well, at last, here it is! This second album is a departure from the first, in that it features songs with more complex writing and vocal layering. It also showcases more of the group's individual vocal talents ( solos are my trademark.). The band has changed and evolved over the time it took to complete this work, and these changes are reflected in the different vocal groupings that can be heard from song to song throughout the CD, from 'classic' members to the brand new crew! "Like sonic snowflakes, no two are alike." -Nigel Tufnel. He didn't actually say it, but he could have. (We have chosen this pargraph as the medium through which to belatedly honor 11/11/11, Nigel Tufnel day.)
You get to hear a bit more of the personality of the band on this album, too. We wanted good production values, but we didn't want a sterile record, so there are lots of incidents of people making exclamations and/or asides during songs that were left in (trust me, for each one that was left in, there are probably ten that had to be cut!). We want you to get to know us a little bit, and one of the first things you need to know is that we like our fun, and our fun is often raucous. We wanted to move people, emotionally and physically, and I believe we've done our job. This album will touch hearts and shake booties!
"Are we there yet?" -Every single Chorus member, at some point or another, over the last two years
The making of this CD was a long and arduous process, to say the least. From former members of the chorus, two new bands have spun off (because they really wanted to sing and couldn't wait the six years it took to finish this damn CD!); the delightful Hecate's Wheel ( LuAnn Morris. Amy Otero, and Vicki Scotti), and the lyrical Treblehawk (Maria Brueck and Brian (the other Brian) Morse). As people moved and changed, and as life in general intruded, we ended up with our current stellar lineup: Connie Beal ("When I’m not singing or mom-ing I fix cars"), Eric Bohner (“Better late than never.”), Michael Johnson ("The Spirits direct me and I take it from there....."), Lori Newlove (“Disrupting personal narratives is one of my services”), Cristina Parr (“I’m Not Short, I’m Fun-Sized”), Colby Parrish (“I'm the hat rack”), Brian Seachrist (“You Sing Now!!!”), and Holli Tempe (“Now, If we could just get me to shut up!”).

The album has been released in time for the 2011 holidays, and the band is fresh and looking forward to touring. Contact your local festival coordinators and request us for all your musical and energy-raising needs! We love playing live, and enjoy the opportunity for personal personal interaction with fans that touring provides.
