Album Notes
Shorty Roc burst on the scene in 2003 with his underground smash “Ten Gay Commandments”, his rendition of the classic DJ Premiere produced Biggie joint “Ten Crack Commandments”. He took his music to the streets with the banger and performed at clubs such as, Langston’s, The Legendary Warehouse, The Clubhouse, and Sunday Nights at The Lab, gaining underground praise for his street delivery, catchy punch lines and his outstanding performance.

Shorty has participated in groundbreaking Out Hip Hop events such as “Peace Out East” and the Homorevolution Tour. He’s been featured in numerous newpaper and magazine coverage including a omplete layout in the prestigious ADVOCATE. Shorty Roc was also featured on PBS’ “In Da Life” in a segment about gay rappers. Shorty has given back to the gay community by performing for organizations such as OUR YOUTH for events like Worlds Aids Day Awareness Banquet, Christmas Parties, and other fundraisers and this year they are honoring with an award for Outstanding Supporter. Shorty participated in Sirius Satelite radio’s Shade 45’s competition for gay rappers where he made it all the way to the semi-finals. He has also been featured in TV documentaries about gay rappers in Holland, London, and Germany as well as magazine coverage. Since his breakthrough, Shorty has released a total of 4 Projects; “The Mixtape: Jackin’ Beats”, “Personal” and “The Experience: Past, Present and Future”, and “Live.Love.Swagg”. In 2010, Shorty Roc was featured on the “Ride or Die Boy” (Pride Remix) along with fello rappers Foxx Jazell, LastO and Nano Reyes. The controversial video which is still in heavy rotation on the LOGO’s Click List has groundbreaking views on Youtube, Bossip and World Star Hip Hop. Also that year, he was the first Out Hip Hop to plan and complete his own “Summer Pride Tour”

After a 2 year break Shorty began recording his latest effort. Now readying for the release of his fiftth project titled, “Now & Forever”, a full length CD of all original material which will also be available on and ITunes. This LP, Includes tracks by Swanny River, Infinite, and Wreck Beats. Features include DDm, Phoenixx Smith, Durrell Arthur, Sony Cobain, Splash T and Billy hood.

Throughout his career Shorty has released countless music, perform heavily at various shows, and has been a big mention in media and publications. He has became a pioneer and legend in the Out Music genre and believes his purpose is to talk to the community about issues in their lifestyle such as, safe sex, dating, troubles with society, and pride for self through great music for the clubs, cars or just relaxing at home. His long term goal is to cross over as a hip hop artist, regardless of sexual orientation.
