Album Notes
The reason I titled this album "Full Circle" is because when The Gants recorded the "Road Runner" album at Fame Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, I got a warm feeling about what we had done and I think the guys did too. We were proud of what we'd done. We were kids and it changed our lives. It made things happen. I get the same feeling about my new CD, "Full Circle". It's always exciting, win or lose, just to be in the game. It's got some music about my homeland, the Mississippi Delta. It's got some Robert Johnson influences in it because I'm a big fan of his, John Lee Hooker, Bo Didley and others. "Bluesy Delta Smile" tells the story of how I came to hear the Blues. I was five years old and it was clear. It brought a smile to my face, a "Bluesy Delta Smile" and left an imprint on my soul. This is not Gants' music. It's Blues Rock and it's aggressive. It's dance music and if you like to boogie it might move you. It's hard time stories, that's why they call it the Blues. Over the years my true blue southern roots have come to the surface bringing me full circle.
