Album Notes
Sigmund Fudge is a collectively led, Los Angeles-based, electric jazz quartet comprising of Joe Bagg (keyboards), Jason Harnell (drums), Jamie Rosenn (guitar) and Ryan McGillicuddy (bass). The brainchild of McGillicuddy in 2009, the concept of the group was to be a creative safe space for the four musicians to workshop their original compositions and experiment with sounds less frequently heard in straight ahead jazz that the electric instruments provided. The idea of the group proved to be successful and Sigmund Fudge has played in the many popular jazz clubs and festivals in Southern California. In 2012, McGillicuddy relocated to Korea effectively putting the group in suspended animation. In 2015 the group reunited to record it's debut album, "Sigmund Fudge" consisting of eight inventive, original compositions and a re-imagining of Pete Seeger's "If I Had A Hammer".
