ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
There’s an intersection between soundscapes and landscapes. Silverio da Silva, a veteran composer and musician, understands painting pictures with sound. The tracks on this recording evoke moods and places and time — perhaps looking back and almost certainly looking forward.

The compositions are unconventional, as if flowing from a river of tones and rhythms. Silverio magically plucks them and assembles them into eleven well-crafted musical poems that travel across multi-tiered terrain. No matter where you listen, the music will take someplace you aren’t. And that’s what is so intriguing about the music of Silverio da Silva, its ability to transport you — intellectually, emotionally, and in surprising ways that shake you.

With the guidance and collaborative energy of Professor Jeremy Haladyna from UCSB, this music transcends categorization, though we can say how it makes us feel…more inspired, hopeful, and curious — curious in the sense that you wonder what might be just around the corner.
