ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Silverkeim is an alternative post-rock music project created by Juergen Fritsch, a Pittsburgh-based artist whose music has been described as cinematic rock with a melancholic vibe.

After spending his formative years playing in various rock bands, the musician/producer went on an extended detour, became an artificial intelligence researcher, then co-founded and helped grow a leading speech understanding technology company, before focusing again on making music. Around 2016, he started experimenting with darker, more atmospheric sounds and became interested in developing these initial ideas into a coherent sound and a unique musical identity. Since then, he has been creating intricate, emotive soundscapes via narrative-styled instrumentals, sometimes using visual storytelling through short films to complement his music.

His first album of original material under the musical alter ego Silverkeim is titled "The Company You Keep in the Empty Moments". Produced, recorded, engineered, mixed & mastered by himself, the multi-instrumentalist also played all the instruments on the debut album. With a passion to make music that transcends the trends of the day, Juergen was driven by a desire to express emotions in a more authentic, less calculated way. Inspired by the big, soul-stirring questions in life - identity, purpose, meaning, connection - the album strives to provide a meaningful soundtrack to reflect on these topics and on the choices we make in life.

Silverkeim's guitar-oriented, atmospheric sound is drawing from a broad set of musical influences, ranging from alternative rock and post-rock to psychedelic, electronic, and even minimalist classical music. Imagine the Doors, Pearl Jam, Moby and Portishead all joining forces to make instrumental music after a long night out together.
