Album Notes
This full retelling attempts to stay as close to the original story and remains appropriate for 11 year olds and up. This ancient story dates back to stone tablets Sumeria and Babylon. The Sumerian texts date back to around 3,000 B.C.E., and the Babylonian texts to around 1,000 B.C.E..
While the story retains some of the violence, the epic has been written with middle school aged people in mind. Instead of another dry translation Brooks has worked with teachers and existing translations to create a story which is easily accessible and entertaining for young adults. Told in Brooks' unique style, this story will not only retain middle school listeners, but encourage them to discover other epics.
British storyteller, Simon Brooks has been engaging audiences of all ages professionally since 2003, and has won awards and recommendations from Parent's Choice and Storytelling World.
