ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The Space Between Disguises is dedicated to the creative process
and the search for our purest, most creative selves.
This album represents the ongoing quest for a space that exists, deep within all of us,
between the disguises that masks our true feelings.
We can only reconnect to our core by listening and sinking
through memories and feelings of awe and insecurity
down into quiet being,
into truth itself.

Over the course of the album, a melody materializes slowly into focus,
shifting disguises and characters- laughing, dancing, crying, struggling,
until it finally reveals its true nature.

Arco Belo draws its name from the words bow and bellow, reimagining a sound within the melding of reeds, strings and percussive timbres at the junction of the familiar and the avant-garde.

I thank you for joining me and my genre- queer ensemble as we dance in the spaces between jazz, chamber music, and folk tunes from around the globe.
