ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This fourth album from Simon Fox dives further into the world of open-tuning steel-string fingerstyle guitar. With Simon's signature guitar style, detailed and expressive, the tracks weave a path through ambient and Celtic territory.

The musical style follows from Simon's previous albums, but pulls back from the up-tempo playing and focuses on adding some space to let the guitar breathe. The album is less identifiable with any particular style and seeks to emphasize the sounds that make Simon's music stand out. All original pieces, the album is mostly solo guitar with some light backing. Two Celtic tunes feature the stunning fiddle playing of Kierah Raymond from Canada. The album's ends of a cracker, Mildred's Red Umbrella, a fiddle tune that has been road-tested in kitchens across Ireland and Canada.
