Album Notes
Simple as A-B-C is a compilation of wonderful artists in the Americana, Blues, and Country genre. These artists have been heard in concert, bars, garages, and venues near you. Many of them also been heard on tv and in movies.

Tisha Emberton with Poetic 9 Productions provided the cover artwork.

The Livesays offer "Highway Miles", "Venus and Mars", and "Whiskey River Blues". "Take two pints Springsteen, one pint John Mellancamp, add a heaping spoonful of Beatles, a pinch of Stones, a sprinkle of Rod Stewart, a dash of Bruno Mars, beat well, bring to a boil, simmer. That's the recipe for The Livesays." www.thelivesaysmusic.com has links for other music by The Livesays. The Livesays are led by Billy Livesay - Memorable pop-rock tunes, soulful vocals, wailing slide guitar and riveting live performances are Billy Livesay's signature. A respected member of the music community, Billy toured as guitarist and lead vocalist for 12 years with E Streeter Clarence Clemons' band Temple of Soul, releasing 2 CD's titled, "Live In Asbury Park, Volume 1" and "Live in Asbury Park, Volume 2" which features Bruce Springsteen. Billy is also currently the lead singing guitarist for Tony Stevens' SLOW RiDE Original Foghat who tour internationally, most recently in Canada and California and can be heard on their cd as well.

The artist Deena gives us "Best Kind of Something", "Heartful of Now", and "I'm The Girl I Told Your Mama About". Deena is Deena Shoshkes is at deena.nfshost.com where it's known that Deena began her music career as co-founder of The Cucumbers, a leading band in the 80s indie pop scene in Hoboken, NJ,with reviews in Rolling Stone and People Magazine and videos on MTV. Deena's songwriting has been called "direct and artful," by the New York Times, her voice "...incredible: kidstuff and wisdom merged," by the Village Voice. Her songs have been recorded by Jackson Browne and Dar Williams and featured in films and on network TV. A blend of alt country and indie pop, with a wink and a twinkle, "Rock River" (released March 2014, Life Force Records) is the second full length CD from Deena. Deena's compelling, charming vocals will draw you into direct, heartfelt songs that reach into the roots of American music, without nostalgia, mixed with a bit of Jersey style rock and roll party spirit, full of harmony, and pop hooks. Her first "Somewhere in Blue" as well as her Rockdownbaby music can be found online as well. "If you're up for some great tunes, with a great band, and a top-shelf singer...look no further." Top of the Pops.

Mark Denny Preston brings a little Texas to the mix with songs "Live by The Fist", "Bottoms Up", and "Ride The Lightning". A former member of Pier Branch Mark has issued two albums of his own- "Dodging Bullets" and "A Chip, A Chair, and A Six Pack of Songs. Mark has performed in Texas and several songwriting venues in Tennessee where he has written with several country songwriters. Mark brings a little blues, a little country, a little southern rock, and a whole lot of guitar and vocals to this compilation. www.markprestonmusic.net Most recently Mark's music can be found in the movie "Old Fashioned".

Tim Gleeson adds a little Philadelphia and New Jersey to the mix with the songs "Holding His Own" and "How Strong". Tim is a Grammy nominated songwriter and former lead guitarist for Sister Sledge and the Luck Brothers. Tim's song, "Cheatin' On Me" has recently been licensed for use in a promo for the CBS hit show, "Criminal Minds". Tim has written songs for, performed with or recorded with the following artists: Anita Baker, Levon Helm, Rory Block, Arnold McCuller (from James Taylors Band). You can hear a little blues at http://timgleeson.com.

Pete Murphy of the U.K. provides the songs "We Speak Love Fluently" and "Abracadrabra Blues". Pete shows he has listened to the Beatles as well as American blues players.

Vaughan Daniel gives us the humorous "She Came Back". Vaughan is a Nashville songwriter with several songs on tv and film and was the co-writer on some of the other songs on this compilation.

Sam Cooper adds "In L.A." Sam is a Nashville songwriter that can be found on Music Row almost daily and can be found performing at several songwriter venues. Originally Sam lived and played in New Jersey, but he has made Nashville his home. www.jericat.com As a vocalist, guitarist and bass player, Sam started performing professionally in the late 1960's. While still in Richmond, Sam played guitar behind both singer/songwriters Cleve Francis (also an accomplished producer/artist) and the late great Steve Yudowich from 1970 to 1971. After moving to New Jersey at the beginning of 1972, he performed (in chronological order) as a soloist and as a member of bands such as SOUTHBOUND, BONE DRY, TRICK ZIPPER, OPUS I, THE ACME BOOGIE COMPANY (which originally also included long-time friend Vini "Mad Dog" Lopez, who was Bruce Springsteen's drummer from the 60's all the way through his second album on Columbia Records), DEUCE COUPE (with Lisa Martin), VINI LOPEZ AND THE DISCO REJECTS, THE MIGHTY ACCENTS, PHATMAN (featuring Slick Aguilar who is the long-time guitarist for Paul Kantner and Marty Balin, as well as a long-time member of JEFFERSON STARSHIP), MAJOR WOODY & THE SPLINTERS, THE SONNY PREWITT BAND and HEY! BETTY!

Rock Kennedy is a Nashville songwriter that provides the country song "Unloving You". Rock lives in Nashville where he write songs and teaches music.

Kevin Patrick Myers is a Tennessee songwriter that works in several genres including electronica. He is also known for some acoustic instrumentals. Here he adds "Island Paradise".

Holland and Hill are songwriters Phil Holland and Heath Hill. They bring us the song "He's A Star". This southern rocker has been in several tv shows that contain a little swamp or a little moonshine.

Josh Morton with the help of some fellow McMinnville friends provides the song "Somewhere South". Wicked guitar provided by Charlie Johnson.

Quixote Fugly tell us the tale of "Venus Flytrap". http://www.quixotefugly.com The band is primarily the vision of Tully Franks and other Middle Tennesseans. They've played the Boro, Collins River BBQ & Cafe, and some other Middle Tennessee venues.

Charles Johnson adds a touch of the blues with his "I Found Out".

Look for future and past music by these artists. Hope you enjoy this. www.soundcloud.com/mctown for notice of some future stuff coming from mctown music ....

Jersey Girl

A great collection of songs from the highways to the skyways and back again. This is a beautiful blend of personalities and styles, that has everything you want to hear - it's bluesy, rocking, soulful and fun. Lyricist David Graham shines here in nearly every song. His lyrics transform and work magic with each collaboration.
