No News from America

by The Skid Baxter Project

Frank Zappa would have loved this saucy tale, dealing with the anthropology of a rock band that plays peculiar music, and the journalist who is out to bring them down. Augmented by healthy doses of heavy-rock, jazz, and orchestral music. Test

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"No News From America" is a story so incredible, most people don't believe it. And yet it did happen, allegedly.

On a cold, gray November day, the lead singer for the Famous Band unexpectedly quits the music business. Under the guidance of Joe Manager, the group soon retreats to a little-known musician’s hideaway, Montgomery, a small mining town in the west, unaware they are being covertly pursued by music-journalist, Onassis Biggs. Through it all, you will laugh, cry, and learn the meaning of "Cola Feet."

The complete No News From America story is found in the glossy 10-page booklet inserted in the jewel-case with the CD. Think of the CD as a soundtrack to the booklet, and you’ve got the idea!

Powerful. Eccentrically original and fresh.
Solid work that is refreshingly outside of typical mainstream garbage. If you question whether quality musical composition is possible within the rock and alternative idiom, NO NEWS FROM AMERICA answers with a resounding, "HELL YES!" The Rock-based instrumentals Pete's Backstreet Exposition, and the title track are stellar romps, contrasted by the humorous social commentary of Donut Shop People and Cola Feet. Mr. Salvatore is one you should watch, but MUST listen to. Bravo!
