Album Notes
Artist's reflections:

Many American jazz musicians have their own European story, and this is mine. I am forever changed by twelve years of traveling, performing and teaching throughout the Czech Republic, and as a result, in many other European countries. But in fact, I fell in love with Prague in just the first half hour of my first visit in the summer of 2007. The details of what would transpire for me in the ensuing years there were somehow inevitable. The Czech Republic’s capital city, my many years on the road to nearly every corner of the country, and the people I have met and come to love, all have an enduring hold on me.

These compositions form a kind of travelogue and the song titles were inspired by people and experiences on both sides of the Atlantic, though mainly in Europe. I wrote this music after I formed the ensemble, thus thinking about each member of the group, their intrinsic musical gifts, and the way this record would come together.

Czech Wishes is lovingly dedicated to the people I have met in my journeys throughout the Czech Republic and beyond.
