Slow Sunrise

by Slow Sunrise

Dance music with Latin percussion, lead guitar, and seductive melodies. Sounds like a mix between Depeche Mode, Santana, and Sade.

Album Notes
Composed, recorded, performed, produced, and mixed by Sol Rodriguez.

This album and project were born from the ashes of struggle and sadness. After losing his young wife and being left with a 2 year old son to raise on his own, life-long musician Sol Rodriguez wondered if music could still be part of his life. Some friends decided to help distract his thoughts by taking him out, and for the first time in his life he was introduced to the dance club experience.

Within the pulsating bass drums and hypnotic melodies, Sol was pleasantly surprised to find a place where music was loved and appreciated and the creativity behind it seemed infinite. There in the dance club, no longer was music just the background soundtrack to the main event. There, you are bathed in a sonic adventure that penetrates your body and soul. Music was alive those nights, and it stirred within him longing to be released.

Sol could not escape the music calling to him. Though his metaphorical "rise from the ashes" would be a struggle, like a "Slow Sunrise" it would inevitably ascend.

Mixing the dance influences from those nights along with roots in Latin rhythms and a passion for lead guitar, Slow Sunrise plays a refreshing blend of pop music with substance and style like crossing Depeche Mode and Santana. When the band slows the music down, Sol's baritone vocals shape the foundation of the seductive melodies reminiscent of Sade and Enigma.
