Album Notes
Small Forest's roots are based on the beautiful Door County peninsula in Wisconsin. The band's songwriting team, Jeanne Kuhns and Marybeth Mattson perform their original tunes with bass-man Patrick Palmer across the peninsula and throughout the Midwest.

While Mattson and Kuhns have each recorded independently in the past, "Dream" is their first album as Small Forest. Recorded at Studio 330 in Sturgeon Bay, WI with engineer and co-producer Hans Christian, the album features incredible guest musicians including: Tommy Burroughs on fiddle and mandolin (Memphis,TN), Tony Dale on Drums and David Walker on electric guitar (Chicago, IL), Hans Christian on Cello and Udu, and George Sawyn and Seth Raddatz on acoustic/electric guitar (Door County, WI).

Meet the Forest:

Jeanne Kuhns has released several albums over the last several years with a variety of musicians including her previous band, Lost Mothra. Her albums from earliest to most recent are "Riverbed," "Lost Moth: Found," "Ghost Ranch," and "Beautifully Strange," as well as a holiday album recorded with George Sawyn called "Mary's Lullaby." Kuhns also owns Lost Moth Gallery in Egg Harbor, WI where she shows her own acrylic and watercolor paintings as well as the work of guest artists.

In addition to playing bass and singing backup with Small Forest (and previously with Lost Mothra), Patrick Palmer owns and operates Wired For Sound Rentals out of Door County, WI, providing exceptional sound and sound-man services to gatherings, weddings, concerts and more.

Prior to joining Kuhns and Palmer and creating the new band, Small Forest, Marybeth Mattson released her first album of all original music in 2012, entitled "Relative Hunger," with Patrick Palmer on bass and Dan Smrz on drums, and featuring Seth Raddatz on lead/electric guitar. With roots in spoken word, Mattson's lyrics are poetic and deliberate, inviting you in and seducing your senses.
