Album Notes
It was at the Cavern Club that Smash Palace was nabbed for this album. Their 2005 set at the Cavern Club in Liverpool was quintessential genius and not one but three music critics alerted Zip Record to what went down and plans for this album were born before the band landed back in New Jersey. On their return tour of the UK in 2006, the BBC picked Smash Palace as a top 10 live act in the UK. "Best Of 99-06" is an exuberant and infectious picture of a band at the peak of its prowess. Melodies and hooks abound...think Badfinger, Kinks, Tom Petty. This is original music inspired by echoes of the past.

Beatle-esc with a splash of Oasis? Nothing better!
Smash Palace's lyrics on their Best Of 99-06 CD draw you in and sway comfortably in your head long after your album stops spinning. The track Juliet to Me sounds like the perfect ending to a film. Images are clear in my mind as Stephen Butler's melody's and DyAnne DiSalvo's harmonies seemlessly meld and carry me away. Smash Palace's Best of 99-06...there's nothing quite like Rock and Roll...

Excellent writing and fantastic technical ability ....a winner !
I found most of their songs brought me back to the old days good music writing from the 60's but with new energy and incredible guitar skills. Its almost hypnotic to listen to their lead guitar player take you through a masterly expression of excellent rock tunes.
