Who is Sunny Massad?
Dr. Sunny Massad, the originator of UnTherapy®, has a Ph.D. in psychology and is a certified hypnotherapist. She is the President and Founder of the Hawaii Wellness Institute, an active member of the American Counseling Association, and has been in private practice since 1988.

Dr. Sunny Massad is widely known for her warmth, wit, and enthusiasm. She specializes in adjustment of inner attitudes and values that promote self-care, peace of mind, and conscious living.

Sunny "retired" first. At the age of 20, she homesteaded an alternative community with a small group of others on forty acres of land in the San Juan Islands in the state of Washington, then traveled to India in 1979 where she learned to meditate at the Rajneesh International Meditation University. She studied hypnosis with Ragini Michaels in Seattle and then moved to the island of Oahu in 1989 where she established a successful private practice as a hypnotherapist ( After getting her Ph.D. in psychology, she founded the Hawaii Wellness Institute where she provides an online coaching/counseling certification course at
