Album Notes
“I have always wanted to be able to perform the songs as they are in my head. Not just to make it heavier for weights sake, and not to make it lighter for softness’ sake. They are my don’t have to listen, but you’ll want to.”
(Smokekiller, 2005)

Smokekiller is the culmination of his desire to write exactly what he has always felt and present it in a way that creates a deep connection with his audience. With his heartfelt lyrics and truly honest delivery, Smokekiller has the unique ability to insert the listener in the time and place where his songs are born. It is this connection that accounts for his ever-growing fan base and critical acclaim he is garnering for his debut self-titled album.

John has shared the stage with a diverse selection of artists such as Ron Sexsmith, Corb Lund, Tegan and Sara and Wide Mouth Mason, and can be found winning over audiences on a stage near you tonight.

“...the mellow genius of Smokekiller. Smokekiller, a.k.a. John Antoniuk, has evolved into one of the most capable solo players in the city, if not Western Canada.”
Ã...ndrew Schwab, editor of The Sheaf. (U of S student paper.)

“... mellow and emotionally stirring show....”
Shannon Boklaschuk, Saskatoon Star Phoenix
