Album Notes
.Smokin Joe Denson...He creates music that is fresh, original, and straight from the heart.
Music you want to turn up and turn up loud. Music that can and has stood the test of time.
His music is a mixture of styles such as hard rock and classic rock.
Joe Denson was born into music. His mother and grandmother were musicians. Joe started playing Guitar at the early age of ten. By the time he was in the 7th grade he was playing in local clubs and colleges. His 7th grade
band director, who was a renown concert violinist in his own right, called Joe a true virtuoso. Even today Smokin' Joe Denson is recognized by his peers as well as audiences all over as a Master Guitarist and Composer. His sound and style has been described as Jimi Hendrix meets Joe Satriani. Every decade since the 60s Joe has played the major clubs and concert halls. In the late 60s it was the
infamous Catacombs club and "Love Street" where he backed up such bands as: Canned Heat, Blue Cheer, Steppenwolf. Also there was the annual "Battle Of The Bands" at the Albert Thomas Convention Center.

On a Friday night, September 18th, 1970, the day Jimi Hendrix died, Smokin'Joe, along with other local musicians played tribute in concert at the "Of Our
Own" concert hall. The 70s took Joe from Houstons "Liberty Hall" to Hollywoods infamous "Whiskey A Go Go. The 80s were spent mainly doing session work. Doing this enabled joe to concentrate more on his song writing. Composing since the 60s you can bet his writing capabilities have been honed to a fine degree. The 90's; Smokin' Joe was back in the saddle with his 3 piece band "SHOGUN".Playing in and out of town alot was Joe's passion. No matter what size a club or hall is, big or small you can bet" Smokin' Joe Denson" will be burnin' down the house with his own brand of progressive rock n' roll.
The year 2000 Smokin' Joe started out the new millineum with a massisive "bang". He released his first solo album "Into The Madness" on Bi-Polar Records.
In fact it was possibly the first CD to be released of the year. Official date and time of release was 12:01am January 1st 2000. Since that time Smokin' Joe has
released one CD per year for a total of three.

Keeping in the grand tradition of Jimi Hendrix, Frank Marino/Mahogany Rush and Joe Satriani. Smokin' Joe shows a wide range of emotion in his playing. His
battles with his "inner dragons" is let loose in a "fury of wild abandon" everytime he plays his 20 year old ARIA PRO II guitar. Joe's style of playing and song writing
abilities range anywhere from the hottest riff driven compositions to delicate chord progressions that carry you like a leaf in a summers breeze. If you like great guitar playing in a hard rock vein then you don't want to
pass up this chance to hear one of the best that Texas has to offer.

If you can't feel the euforia and torment of this mans music, then you might want to check with could be dead!
When you see SMOKIN JOE DENSON live you'll see a fire extinguisher beside his special effects's for a board alright...his fret board!!!
A true Texas Guitar Legend, Smokin Joe plays in the grand tradition of Jimi Hendrix,Robin Trower,Frank Marino and Joe Satriani. His CD's are a testament to his ability and mastery over his 20 year old ARIA PRO II Guitar. Smokin' Joe plays all the instruments on his solo albums #1,2,3
CD#2: "KEEP IT REAL" 2001
CD#3: "WINDOWS" 2002
CD#4: "TEXAS PRIDE" 2003
