Album Notes
Smudgie, the nickname that stuck and brings her luck, is a singer-songwriter from Toronto, Canada. After a party on a rainy night in London, England, nearing the end of her Ph.D. in economics, she started song writing for the first time.

Her sound has been compared to a wide range of artists from Katy Perry and Paramore to Death Cab for Cutie, The Eurythmics, Blondie and Lana del Rey.

Recently, Smudgie's collaboration with Bamtone was shortlisted for placement on Netflix's Hemlock Grove, which airs on NBC. Smudgie’s song "Clearer" was selected to be part of PUSH, L.A.-based media company Noise Refinery's album, which was distributed throughout the U.K. (then worldwide). Her songs have been played across America’s sports arenas to pump up fans. Four of her songs were chosen by Tony Hawk personally for his “Ride Channel”.

Smudgie tunes have also been played on "terrestrial" radio such as Rock 95; many of her songs have climbed the charts on indie music websites and have been on regular Internet radio rotation.

Her tune "Feel Like This” was placed in “The Odyssey Years”, an L.A.-based web drama series. Smudgie's songs have also been played in coffee houses across the U.S.

Her tunes have also won her several song-writing awards and her video to “Feel Like This” landed her a nomination for Best International Video by the UK’s Exposure Music Awards. That video was also aired by Long Island, New York-based satellite TV, reaching half a million viewers. She was nominated for Best Original Score for the short film "Glitterbug".

Jim Vallance, who has written chart-topping songs with Bryan Adams, Alice Cooper, Aerosmith and Ozzy Osbourne, told her she’s got the makings of a hit songwriter. Ralph Murphy, VP for ASCAP in Nashville, who produced the band April Wine (2 gold albums, 1 platinum), generated hits for Crystal Gale, recorded with Randy Travis and Shania Twain, calls her “The Smudge”. Ralph called her material “catchy” and encouraged her to get more songs to TV and Film. She’s also been on the Nashville Songwriters Association’s International’s “One to Watch” and “Recommended” lists.

Smudgie’s live experience includes playing Nashville’s Bluebird Café and The Commodore Grille. She was also chosen to be part of the Free Times Café’s “Best of the Open Mic” in Toronto.

She is now working on her second studio album with Attitude Productions.
