Album Notes
“Snake Davis has one of the most passionate sax styles and simple bluesy approaches a-la-Sanborn heard in these isles for a while”. TIME OUT.

“A virtuoso saxophonist”. DAILY TELEGRAPH

“A brilliant sax player who could wail like the best American players, but was at his best weaving around slow ballads, won deserved acclaim” BLUES + SOUL

“Davis’s vocalised, David Sanborn-like sax sound expresses a devoted affection for the candid cry of blues and soul” THE GUARDIAN

“Snake is a joy to work alongside. His musical skills have no limit, in fact he is as free as a bird.” DAVE STEWART (Eurythmics)

Snake has recorded with:
Sir Paul McCartney, Paul Hardcastle, M-People, George Michael, Ray Charles, Boy George, Lisa Stansfield, Lemar, Cliff Richard, Kylie Minogue, Acoustic Alchemy, Tina Turner, Dionne Warwick, Marius Muller Westenhagen, Johnny Halliday, Lionel Richie and many more…

Snake Davis is often referred to as the UK’s leading saxophonists, playing alto, soprano, baritone and tenor saxes, flutes, whistle and shakuhachi. Snake has found his own style, which has resulted in a number of young up and coming saxophonists using him as their modern day role model.

His greatest influences have been King Curtis and the Brecker Brothers. He was brought up with Motown classics and soul music – all which have helped influenced the sound so many people recognize as “Snake Davis” . The press sometimes find it hard to slot him into a set genre, but that’s partly why so many people love his music, it is soul, funk, world jazz.

Adder Lessons was produced due to the numerous requests for tracks from his earlier albums that are out of production. With a few extra tracks added on the way - a highly entertaining album.
