ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The Snake Doctors play a funky blend of rock, country, blues and Southern soul, featuring the quirky yet soulful songwriting of singer/guitarist Charlie Howell. Backing Howell up are Hugh Messenger on blues harp and Hammond organ, Jim Cavender on bass and harmony vocals, Darnell Hampton on percussion and Matt Foy on drums.

The thirteen studio tracks here are all Howell originals cut in 1997-98, recorded by Rene Korte and Chris Homsley and mixed by Charles "Toot" Snoddy and Jim Cavender. The horns on some tracks are Ken Watters on trumpet and Steve Motz on tenor saxophone. The three live tracks are from an April 2008 performance at The Crossroads in downtown Huntsville and include Danny Hall on lead guitar and Mike Dendy on drums.

This deluxe edition was produced by Jim Cavender for Startlingly Fresh Records and is available only as a download because there's too much great music to fit on one CD!
