ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
SNOWING MAP sings poetry of Yoon Dongju, one of the most beloved poet in Korea and this album, "Yoon Dongju Project - Chapter 1" contains 14 poems of him. Yoon Dong-Ju lived his entire life under Japanese Colonial rule. Born the eldest of an exiled Christian family in desolate Manchuria in 1917, he died a prisoner of conscience in his oppressor’s country in 1945. His collected poems published after he died under the title “Sky, Wind, Stars and Poems” which is one of the all-time favorites of Korean readers. His poems sing of his love for people, his compassion for the poor and destitute, and his hopes for freedom. More than half a century after his death, his poems find ever more resonance in the hearts of his fellow Koreans, who honor him with affection and pride.
