Album Notes
Sojourn, Somnent's first full-length release, is a concept album which revolves around a man's acceptance of death and his brief yet painful existence on Earth. And like nature itself, he has no choice but to accept the inevitable end. He comes to his own conclusion that life is nothing but a painful lie and death is the only truth that he must accept in order to find peace.

The writing process for Sojourn was more challenging than originally anticipated. Following the release of Eventide, and in the middle of completing my studies while adjusting to a new job, here were all these thoughts and emotions beginning to take form which were fighting to be released. Working late into the dead of night or in the early hours of the morning was the only way to make the recordings for these songs. Not so easy in a small apartment/flat (whaterver you want to call it). Especially when screaming like a deranged hell hound and trying not to scare the piss out of the neighbors or wake anyone (sorry Zineb!). Overall, the writing process was long, drawn out, and tiring.. but there are some things that we must do because our minds won’t let us rest until we complete them. This was one of those things and in retrospect I am happy with the result.

Sojourn was mixed, mastered, and produced by Giovanni A. Vigliotti at Diagnostic Studios between July 2016 to October 2017.
