Album Notes
The theme of the tour was "music for the stage" by Thai and Western composers. The Sinfonietta's performances of the rare Beethoven overture "Consecration of the House" and Wagner's seldom perfortmed overture from his early opera "Die Feen" were among the gems of the concert series.

This album includes two works that received their world premiere during the tour, 23-year old Natthapong Yutthanasirikul's evocative "Himavanta" and Trisdee na Patalung's powerful, personal piece "Perception". In addition there are excerpts from Somtow Sucharitkul's ten-opera cycle "Dasjati - Ten Lives of the Buddha", and a suite from the film "Naresuan" by Pantawit Kiangsiri.

In addition there is a lovely waltz by His Majesty the King of Thailand, "Falling Rain."
