Album Notes
Born in the south of Iran, my musical career began at the age of 9 when I started to appear on children’s television shows in my home town of Bandar Abbas. I started performing on stage from early age and worked with different bands and orchestras. I was a regular performer at arts festivals and won first prize in performance and singing for 5 consecutive years until I graduated from high school and left for London to pursue my studies.

I remained in London for 5 years and after finishing my degree moved to the South Pacific. I started to write, compose and record music after arriving in New Zealand where I am currently residing with my family, and have since worked with many musicians both in New Zealand and overseas.

Inspired by the poets of 19th Century, and the influence of my Bahá’i background and the Writings of Bahá’u’lláh, I have composed several albums of songs and tried to create a new style of music which is modern, but has classical themes. My recent recordings have been arranged by acclaimed concert pianist and musical director Stephen Small. My album ‘Sea of Mystery' released in 2015 was recorded with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra directed and produced by well-known composer Tom Price.

I sing in different languages although my original language is Persian, and I have given concerts in Australia, New Zealand, United States, Canada, South Africa, China, Macau, Samoa, South America, and England. I have travelled extensively throughout my musical career and have also participated as a performer in numerous artistic events and conferences throughout the world.

I enjoy learning songs in different languages, and have performed in multiple languages, including English, Samoan, Persian, Maori, and Spanish.
The songs on this particular album 'Amis', sung in Bandari and Bastaki dialects spoken in my hometown in the south of Iran, were inspired by poems I heard while growing up in Bandar Abbas, and this production is dedicated to my hometown to where I am not able to return at present due to religious persecution. The lyrics are all somewhat melancholy and written of lost love by the writer Ebraim Monsefi for whom I have a lot of respect as a true artist. He had no reservation in expressing his deep feelings through his powerful poetry written in different dialects of the south region of Iran. The style of music is modern and guitar based with beautiful arrangements by Stephen Small.
