Album Notes
This is Sonia’s first album and was recorded 'live', the evening of 14 May, 1984 at 'Fifty-Four East Sound Recorders Ltd', Pasadena, California. Although British. she was living in the USA for a few years. Full lyrics come with the physical album or are available free from her web-site.

Fans' comments: "The songs you have written are beautiful, and there is no doubt in my mind that God has inspired you in a very special way." "A member of the Samaritans gave your Sunshine & Rain album to a lady undergoing radiotherapy for cancer. Your music comforted her - it was the only material that she could listen to."

Not long before recording, some temporary consequences of a motorbike accident taught her to rely solely on God. Enabling her to put this unknown venture of organising recording an album into God’s hands, for Him to bless, as it was all for His glory. The recording studio manager gave a greatly reduced rate for 6 recording hours, because God wanted him to.

The group of musicians who supported her that evening were made up of College students and graduates from USA, UK, Canada and Australia. “In a few hours we recorded 10 of my songs, each one in just one take. That in itself was quite a remarkable feat especially as we have never played all together before. For this reason, this album is very special and holds moments I shall always treasure.”

Of the track, 'Give Ear O Heavens', John Wheeler (a theologian studying musical notation preserved by the Hebrew Masoretic Text of the Bible) said that amazingly, Sonia had somehow come very close to the music of the original Song of Moses in Deuteronomy 32.

Also that her version of ‘The Lord's My Shepherd’, was the only one he knew of that used a minor key, other than David’s original – making it “almost other-worldly in its haunting beauty”. He thought her songs were “gorgeous” and believed her to be a prophetic song-writer. His letter to her additionally said that God teaches us truth and gives us understanding and the seeds of ideas, and we can use His Spirit and our talent to take it from there. The words are the most important thing; “the music, merely their servant and support”.

The last track, ‘Blue Skies’ originally appeared on Giovanni Carrea's 1977 album 'One Day'. Recorded on 12 June, 1977, at 'Beck' studio, Wellingborough, UK, when Sonia was only 17 years old. See her Artist’s Page for the exciting story of how she had this opportunity. That recording experience was one she “enjoyed so much that I asked God … in the recording booth … to inspire me with more songs to His praise and glory and, to also give me more recording opportunities in the future. That short prayer was answered bountifully” over the years, for which she is very thankful to God.

Fan's comment: "Your music is encouraging to me. One morning recently I awoke and didn't feel on top of the world and put on Sunshine & Rain. After a few songs I was encouraged and uplifted, no longer being ruled by my emotions but by my faith in God and His promises."
