Claudia Beechman

A rich baritone accompanied by beautiful, clean guitar work.
Poignant songs, especially Anne Frank's Eyes. I also love the hard-driving Devil on the Run. Beautiful, clean guitar work.

John Moynihan

a great progression from Craig's first album Reverie
Storm Clouds Rising is a major step forward for Craig Sonnenfeld. The craftsmanship and tight style that he brings to this album are inspiring. The best cuts include Rope of Sand, The Lighthouse, and Ten Steps to Climb. These songs all have haunting lyrics and sophisticated melodies that stay with the listener long after the album is put away. By all means get this one!

Craig Sonnenfeld has done an outstanding job on his 2nd CD "Storm Clouds Rising." His skill as a songwriter, guitarist, and singer are evident on every track. Craig has the ability to transport you in time with his lyrics and music and make you feel you are right there waking in each characters foosteps. "Anne Frank's Eyes" is a stand-out track, as is "Devil on the Run".

Rob Siegel

Outstanding Vocals, Clean Guitar Playing, Very Good Songwriting
Craig Sonnenfeld has one of those great middle-baritone voices, like John Gorka in the early 90's, or Stan or Garnett Rogers, that you hear and think, wow, I could listen to him all day. On Storm Clouds Rising, Craig's marvelous voice is well-supported by his guitar playing, which is clean and unfussy, and his songwriting. The standouts for me were Anne Frank and Ten Steps to Climb.

Chris Wilhelm

A master of fingerstyle guitar, with great Vocals. Craig is the real deal.
When I Iisten to Craig I think Chris Smithers or Mississippi John Hurt. This is a must own cd. It's got a great sound. It was recorded by Steve Friedman.

Ellen Schmidt

highly listenable album of traditional-sounding original compositions
"Storm Clouds Rising" is an excellent second album. Craig's songs are all well-written and his voice, strong but understated, his clear picking and excellent arrangements and musical "color" added by Steve Sadler, Steve Rapson, Lee Adler and Deb Blackadar make this a very listenable album. My favorites are "Rope of Sand" and the very powerful and poignant "Anne Frank's Eyes".
