ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Sons of Perdition is one man, Zebulon Whatley, with occasional guests. Whatley grew up in East Texas on a diet of fundamentalist religion and weird books. He currently resides in Austin, Texas. For Trinity, Whatley enlisted bassist Simon Brach (Fall of Serenity), as well as a handful of other singers and musicians.

Trinity concludes Sons of Perdition's Dissolution Trilogy, which began with 2007’s The Kingdom is on Fire and continued with 2010’s Psalms for the Spiritually Dead. Trinity tells the story of a fool’s hellish journey through the blood-soaked deserts of the American Southwest through religious, occult, and alchemical allusions.

CD copies of the album include a tarot card specially designed for the release by celebrated German illustrator Christoph Mueller.

In 2011, Sons of Perdition provided the score and voice acting for the award-winning Southern Gothic animation, The Backwater Gospel. The film won the award for “Best Soundtrack” at the CinePropio film festival.
