ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Soror Meral (Phyllis Seckler) was one of the most important and influential Thelemites of the 20th century. As a IXth degree initiate of Ordo Templi Orientis, and an Adept of A.'.A.'., Seckler helped to bring Thelema into the modern age after the death of Aleister Crowley and his successor, Karl Germer.

In the early 1980s, Seckler sat down in her backyard garden with a simple tape recorder, classical music playing in the background, and recorded herself reciting Chapter 1 of Aleister Crowley's The Book of the Law. This is not a professional recording, but a simple document of one Adept's love and passion for Thelema and its central Holy Book. We, her students and successors, offer it now as a testament to Soror Meral's work. We hope that you will enjoy the chance to hear her voice as we did during her life, and that the words of the Book will help bring you to the fulfillment of your own True Will.
