Album Notes

Stephanie Stone was a jazz pianist in New York City during the 1940s and 1950s. Since the 1970s she and her husband, the late Irving Stone were the greatest followers of the Downtown avant-jazz scene and an integral part of it. This music was recorded at a memorial tribute event for her on June 27, 2014 at Roulette, Brooklyn, NY. Poet Steve Dalachinsky hosted the standing room only crowd. Sound River was one of many performing friends who came to celebrate the life and times of Stephanie Stone.
