ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This Oregon bluegrass band conjures up memories of some popular songs considered contemporary in the 70's thru the early 80's, as well as some traditional sounds and one original instrumental. The two lead singers vocals, (Gary Thompson, mandolin and Cynthia Thompson, acoustic dobro bass) really compliment each other and rhythm guitarist (Tom O'Connor) adds his vocal for pleasing duet and trio harmonies. With Sean Kelly on banjo, this four-piece, traditional and contemporary bluegrass band is sure to pull you in.

The Southern Transfer Band's debut CD offers up a diverse and creative selection of tunes that allows the listener to pick and choose their flavor, all the while keeping the music pure and simple. The CD was recorded in a true blanket studio with no frills, but never the less satisfies!
