ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Brian Harrison and I had been playing guitars and writing songs together for about ten years. In the fall of 1983, we recorded some demos at Basement Floor Studios in Baltimore, Maryland, U.S.A. Tim Miskimon, the owner of the studio, helped out by playing keyboards, bass, and adding some vocals to our songs. Tim's brother, Mark, played the drums and also contributed on some vocals. Brian and I were so pleased with the results that we wound up cutting the whole Space Band album at Basement Floor Studios. The album was released in the spring of 1984 and garnished great local reviews as well as international distribution. We've received fan mail from all over the U.S. as well as Germany, England, Italy, Russia and Japan.

We finally had Tim master the album on to CD in November 2000. We made it just in time as some of the master tapes showed some deterioration. Included on the CD is a bonus track which is just a very short studio out take of Mark and me doing a sound check. The CD also has the original album art with the Spaceman (Star Rider) on the front drawn by Brian and Martha Harrsion.

We hope you enjoy the music and as with a lot of classic rock, some of the music becomes timeless.
Terry, Brian, Tim, and Mark

Please note: This music was professionally recorded and mixed in analog format with the CD mastering done at a professional sound studio. To save costs, the album art was copied on computer and printed on high quality photo paper. The music is burned onto CD-Rs with no shrink wrap.
This insures that the artists benefit more directly!

Producer, Singer, Songwriter Tim Miskimon

When you record and produce dozens of acts year after year for over 20 years it sometimes can get boring. But every now & then an artist comes along that blows you away - or you are totally excited about the music they bring to you. That's what happened when I worked with Baltimore's own Space Band. The album was recorded over the coarse of about 18 months but I had so much fun that it seemed like it took a week. Song writers Terry Kempler & Brian Harrison are great writers! The music is very original and when I was asked to play & sing on the album I was honored. It was great fun. Anyone of these songs could be a hit on it's own. My only regret is that we didn't record another album. These guys have hundreds of great songs besides the ones on this CD. Like all the classics, this CD is one you should have in you collection. The album is fun, it takes you on a Magical musical journey and on top of that - it !#$!ing rocks!!!!!

P.S. Terry continues to impress me with all the various music projects he has produced since that first Space Band album - but best of all he has turned into one of my best musical friends. Keep on surprising me Terry!!!! :~)

A real trip back into time with space jams.
This CD is a classic and why this band never made it is a mystery. So unique, but with great songs. "Burn Out On Re-Entry" is so original. Every song is well written and the screaming on "Tie You Away" (a little Jim Morrison influence) predates Nirvana and all the grunge bands by 5 years! A must CD and certainly a collectors item.
