ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The trio S P A C E took form in 1986 and performed together until 1988. Under the musical direction of Scott Jarrett, guitarists/vocalists wm Alan Ross, Garrett Randolph, and Jarrett fused acoustic folk, pop, rock, and chant. This collection is the group's complete recorded works.

The multi-faceted Jarrett displays his superior abilities as songwriter/singer/musician/vocal arranger/engineer/producer on the project. The former Arista recording artist, who scored a regional break-out hit with "Miles of Sea" in 1980, offers a re-recording of that hit here with S P A C E.

Ross's work is chronicled on four CDs: "Poet Warrior" (1992) "Scorpius Risin'" (1997) "Scottish Influence" (2003) and "Fogs of August" (2013). His early work in the mid-1960s with the New York City folk trio Children of Rain was recently hailed by British music journalist Robert Cochrane and resulted in the 2017 release of "Children of Rain: Revisited" - a 9-song album presenting the former Dot Records artists' unreleased work from 1966-67. His 51-year music career began in New York's Greenwich Village in the mid-1960s and included a 45 rpm release on Philips Records with his then-wife Pam as the folk rockers Ross Legacy in the spring of 1969. Later that same year the duo moved to Nashville, recording and performing as Pam and Alan Ross for the next eight years. Ross also enjoyed a 35-year career as a jingle singer, writer, and producer in Music City, USA.

Randolph, the legendary Maine woodsman/singer/songwriter, released the critically acclaimed Backbone Road Records solo CD "As Promised" in 1994. Aptly nicknamed "Mr. Universe," Randolph brings a lifelong love of land, sky, and song to S P A C E.

All three are featured lead vocalists. The work of S P A C E has been hailed as some of the finest modern folk music recorded since the Sixties.
