Album Notes
The album begins with an instrumental version of This Old Man, with fiddles and pennywhistle, yet when a new vocal chorus appears, you'll realize the creative changes are the norm and protocol for this delightful collection of children's songs. There are hints throughout of Lewis' well known instrumental music that feature his guitar and violin while adding a dash synthesizer's. There's a little know Woody Guthrie song My Daddy Flies (A Ship in the Sky); a faithful version of Stewball, new verses to Itsy Bitsy Spider, and the rollicking folk song When I First Came To This Land. Throughout the album, Lewis' voice is joined by the soothing precision of guest singer Patty Ackley-Warlick. Two original lullabies round out the album. Strap yourself aboard for a pleasant ride for both young and most importantly, old alike. We all know how important it is for adults to be able to listen to a young person's music knowing it will be played over and over.
