ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Spirit of the Cross is a contemporary acoustic choral group from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in Canada. We love the sound of 4 part choral singing, so we\'ve coupled it with our favourite acoustic instruments, piano, acoustic bass, acoustic guitar, violin, and hand drums (djembe, cajon and udu). We\'ve used this to try to create a new sound for some of the songs people have loved for years. Some new arrangements have been inspired by other groups or singers we\'ve seen or heard. Some are our own creation.

Most of the songs you see on our albums you\'ll recognize. These are songs we sing at the 7pm Sunday liturgies at Holy Spirit Parish each week. We like to mix things up so hopefully you\'ll hear something you like.

We started off as a group of high school students in 1991 that got together and loved to sing. People have come and gone over the years, but music ministry still remains as the heart of the group. Now we\'re a group of friends that have taken our ministry to new exciting levels, singing at World Youth Day in Germany 2005 and recording 3 albums. We hope you enjoy this, our most recent work. We thank the composers for their inspiring words and songs. And we humbly thank God for the opportunity to worship Him through music.
