ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Laura Allen, Sherry Fox and Joel Siegel spent their early years in rock n” roll – and with the release of Starcrossed they take listeners back to the time where hard-driving music and female lead singers ruled the airwaves.

Those familiar with the story of “the greatest band you’ve never heard” know the secret behind the title, but the results are anything but “starcrossed”.

Exhilarating, intoxicating, and sometimes wistful, Starcrossed, the new CD featuring Laura Allen and Sherry Fox and Joel Siegel is now available. Like the unexpected return of a former love, Starcrossed strikes chords that resonate, both musically and lyrically. Their powerful vocals lead a tight band of rockers captured live in the studio, and vividly reconnects to an era of rock that has been “a long time gone,” but certainly not forgotten.

There’s a reason for that. You won’t believe it to look at them, but Fox, Allen, and Siegel (and everyone associated with Starcrossed) have their roots in “the greatest days of rock:”

 Sherry Fox opened for the Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane and Sons of Chapin as lead vocalist of R.J. Fox. She has also done stage time behind Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin and with Pablo Cruise.

 Laura Allen’s first credit is on David Crosby’s initial solo album – you’ll find the petite beauty on sleeve’s photos. Her most recent CD, “Telegraph” features the funky sound that has taken her on tour around the world.

 Joel Siegel, the “J” in R.J. Fox, who also penned all the songs as well as adding his unique 12 string guitar sounds to the mix.

 And R.J. Fox’s original producer, wonderkind Stephen Barncard, known for the signature albums of the Seventies, (American Beauty, If Only I Could, etc.) serves as executive producer of Starcrossed.

But all you’ll care about is the music. Starcrossed delivers. The only question listeners have is not “where have you been?” but “will you promise to never leave?” Luckily for everyone, we’ve captured them forever on CD! (And live on DVD!)

The Band behind the sound:

Bassist: Cliff Hugo (best known for his work with Supertramp)
Lead Guitar: Zeke Zirngiebel (earned his stripes with Warren Zevon and Tower of Power.)
Drums: Rick Schlosser (most often heard behind Juice Newton. He has also provided percussion for Rod Stewart, Linda Ronstadt, and James Taylor.)
And don’t forget Joel Siegel’s masterful 12 string guitar.

Russ Gifford -- Weekender magazine

This album ROCKS! While their roots may be in the 1960's, this sound harkens back to the late-70's with ringing guitars and skyrocketing female vocals! (Think Fletwood Mac in their reved up days and you're close.)

The DVD is a BONUS - you'll see Joel and Richard on stage with with Sherry and Laurie, igniting the reunion of RJFox before your eyes! Then close your eyes and listen, and you'll never believe it was 1971 the last time they played the Fillmore West and shared a stage with the Dead and the Airplane!

This is a GREAT CD, and with the DVD bonus, it is a STEAL! Order it now and ENJOY!
