Album Notes
THE STARK RAVENS: Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

The second CD from the Stark Ravens Historical Players continues their tradition of bringing the words of great writers to life with spectacular new music. This soundtrack takes Lewis Carroll's brilliant & whimsical nonsense poems & songs, sung by Alice, the White Rabbit, the Queen of Hearts, the Mad Hatter, the hookah smoking Caterpillar & all the rest, accompanied by a wall of sound from brass, woodwinds, piano, mandolin, banjo, guitars, percussion & much more!

In the Service of Joy!
A colorful mélange of Shakespearian actors, musicians, commedia del arte performers, artists, writers, dancers, singers, puppeteers, fire-eaters, and production experts, the Stark Ravens offer a complete theatrical experience unlike any other. This imaginative troupe draws on all areas of artistic and technical expertise to deliver a creative and polished entertainment package that is fantastic for all types of events & venues.
Stark Ravens was hatched as a homegrown theatrical troupe in the sacred tradition of the traveling mountebanks. The Ravens are deeply committed to the principle of creative collaboration and develop their projects with input from all members. The Ravens draft abridged scripts, compose original music, and design & build the costumes, props, and puppets for every new show.
Their Latin motto, Gaudii Gratia, expresses the mission that brought these odd birds together. Translated, it means "In the Service of Joy". Their founding goal is spreading joy through classical, historical and educational theatre presented in a colorful, lively, and accessible way.

Fun & Imaginative!!!
What a fun and imaginative collection of songs! You can really tell how many people's efforts went into it's creation. Most of all, it left me with an intense desire to see a live production - seems like a fun time, and that really comes across, even on cd. Good luck to you!

What fun!!! I'm humming the tunes all day long. Very catchy.
This is Fun!!! I find myself humming songs all day long and realize that they're from "ALICE". The collaboration of Lewis Carroll's words and Mark Donnelly's music are a wonderfully enjoyable combination. This CD would be a lovely addition to any collection - especially for children. And Carroll's subtlly sophisticated lyrics won't be lost on apreciative adults either.
