Album Notes
'Note from the performer'

I grew up in a family who loves music and was lucky to be exposed to different genres from a young age, including the folk music of my country. Having studied and followed the ‘classical music’ path, I urgently feel the necessity to bring it closer to people who consider it distant or difficult to understand. Zoltán Kodály, the one who inspires me the most, believed that ‘music is for everyone’. Theodorakis believes that ‘an artist should not remain separate from his people’. Both of these statements reflect my own passion for music and desire for communication. With this particular collection of works I wish to express the originality and idiomatic character of a unique musical fusion: the ‘folk idiom’, which derives from the people and communicates directly to the people and the ‘classical musical form’, which is an analysed and greatly sophisticated kind of language.
