ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Stefanosis is back with the deeply profound poetry of 16th century mystic Kabir. A few artists from the Sikh / Kundalini yoga community have fit their music to this poem by Kabir - namely Snatam Kaur - whose version made it quite popular. That being said, nobody has done a reggae version of this song, until now. Stefanosis is going back to his early musical stylings, being a reggae-dub producer a couple decades ago under a different artistic moniker (Steve Steppa), where he found some notoriety on big, European sound-systems through a couple dubplates. This song pulls from the reggae style of the late 70's, inspired by groups like the Gladiators, the Wailers and Horace Andy. This is not lazy reggae, it is pumping and driven, and will get people dancing. The fact that it's a poem by Kabir makes it all the more 'conscious', and this release will be a pleasant surprise to reggae music fans, who have yet to hear this side of Stefanosis, and rumor has it that this is just a taste of more to come next year in 2019 !
