ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Stefanosis revisits older, musical roots (literally and figuratively) in this 2019 album release. Once again, featuring the profound poetry of 16th century mystic Kabir, yet Stefanosis does something nobody else has done before - he adds this poetry to reggae music ! Inspired by the dub-poetry and roots reggae sounds of the mid 70's, this unique album is sure to be a pleasant surprise to fans of this genre. The album kicks off with a song that was a traditional Punjabi spiritual hymn, cleverly translated to English over a classic, reggae rhythm. There are also a couple of down-tempo, electro-dub style tracks here, such as 'Depressed' and 'Inside. Never forgetting the East-Indian element in all of his releases, Stefanosis features the very talented sitar player Evan Hatfield on the track ' Woke Woman'. The album ends with the perfect closer - a dubbed out remix version of the first song, entitled 'Noor Dub'. In his signature style, Stefanosis brings us another release to stimulate mystic spirituality and conscious poetry in a way that honors Eastern wisdom with reggae roots. We're sure Kabir would be proud.
