Album Notes
Stephanie Ault, 25, is a singer and a songwriter who pairs acoustic piano with her passionate vocals and emotional ballads. Her sound can be compared to artists such as Cat Power, Feist and Joni Mitchell. Her newest record, "From the Factory" was written during her lunch breaks while she worked as an artisanal chocolate maker in the winter of 2012. The record laments of the struggles and the disappointments she faced after a break up with the father of her child, while drawing comparisons to the 1940s "Rosie the Riveter" icon.

Stephanie spent most of her childhood growing up on the rocky plains of Colorado, but in 2005 decided to relocate to New York City. It was there that she studied to become an actress and attended the American Academy for Dramatic Arts. While in acting school, however, she found herself drawn more to writing music in between classes than to acting. She turned solely to the honesty and rawness of musicians such as Stevie Nicks, The Cranberries and Sarah McLachlan and aspired to resemble these female artists.

After graduating, she traveled through Europe and became inspired by the strong food and family culture. She acquired a growing obsession for understanding the process of how things were made, (bread and chocolate in particular) and when she returned to the States she landed jobs in both culinary fields. In the past five years Stephanie has worked as a baker, an organic farmer and as a chocolate maker. She is now a full-time musician and mother and resides in Brooklyn, New York with her son, Blaise.
