Album Notes
Ocean Waves by StephenBard is about love and family; About being away from things that make you keep on hanging in there till you're back. Sometimes you're somewhere you don't want to be. This album is about the stuff you see and the things you feel when you're there.

It's got some Beatles in it, some Billy Joel, some Joni Mitchell, some Indigo Girls...but it's all StephenBard.

StephenBard writes all the songs, plays all the instruments and sings all the parts. There's alot of acoustic guitar and hammond organ. Especially fun and water-like throughout is the Fender Flower Telecaster through a Leslie speaker that gives the impression of George Harrison's work on ABBEY ROAD and LET IT BE. Dreamy Joe and CherieLynn sing harmony on "Vanishing" which quotes from "Sloop John B." The Friends Of Jon Cohen perform "For Eddie Ray Howard."
Howi Vinni co-produced "And The World Goes Round." RyanBall manned the console, twiddled the knobs and pushed the faders.

StephenBard is not a rock star, a pop star or a movie star. He's a husband, a father and a musician and this is the most personal, heartfelt music of his life thus far.

Ocean Waves, for those times when you're waiting in the darkness and searching in the silence.

Great CD.
I see Stephen play alot in NJ and I like the new CD alot. Especially "Melancholy Boy" and "For Eddie Ray Howard." That one has a Grateful Dead feel to it. It's cool. Thanks.

intelligent, well-intentioned, soulful...
I like this record. Sweet sound and a lot to say. The first tune sounds a bit like Lennon and he moves on into his own thing from there. Good stuff.

An album about love and loyalty.
We just got married and we love the songs on this album. It's heartfelt music about being apart and staying together.

Ocean Waves is beauty in a Compact Disc.
Stephen Bard's fifth CD, Ocean Waves is a genre of music on it's own. Honestly, 5 stars is most definetly an understatement. With 15 songs of pure emotion and beauty, this album is a must-have for anyone who loves music or life in general.

Superb, must-have CD
A spectacular effort from a superb musician. Stephen takes you with him on a journey as he explores the emotions of love and life, friendship and loneliness. His melodies are infectious, avoiding the cliché of wannabe pop stars. Instead, he builds on sensibilities stemming from those who have influenced him, creating something unique and quite beautiful. Stephen’s music deserves to be heard. Tell your friends.

This CD gets a zillion stars! I need to have one cd in the house and one cd for my car! Thank you CD Baby for making this music available. I love it

Can't stop listening
When you find music that speaks to you, you soak it in like the sun. You can't help yourself but fall in love with it over and over with each listen. This is music, this is emotion, this is what it's all about. This album should be required listening. People throw the word "genius" around casually, but it should be noted that there is no more appropriate word that can describe Stephen Bard's music. I didn't think I could love it more. I was wrong.

getting better all the time
