ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Circ. 1988 the album Greek Picnic was released in Burlington Vermont USA.
The music on Greek Picnic is somewhat harder edged than their first release, Bliss Songs.
After the album release party at Metronome (upstairs from Nectar's and home of Bliss)
they relocated to Boston Massachusetts. The new location boosted record sales,
and broadened the band's capability to do regional shows more easily than before.
The music industry watched them rise on their own with the potential of maybe
striking a record deal, even during a time when artists were being dropped from their labels.

Circ. 1988, was still during a time when music was played on albums or cassettes.
Now you can download it here or order the CD version.

Carol- accordion, bass guitar, guitar, vocals; Diane- clarinet, bass clarinet, tenor sax;
Steph- guitar, vocals; Sandy- bass guitar, guitar; Carolyn- drum kit, percussion

Guest vocals- Diamanto Mitchell (Steph's grandmother)

All songs produced by Miss Bliss and Peter Wilder and engineered by Chuck Eller;
except Corinne and Electric Housewife produced by Miss Bliss and Mark Spencer, engineered by Dana Becker;
except Slants Of Life produced by Miss Bliss and Chris Butler engineered by Dana Becker.
Diamanto Mitchell's vocals courtesy Doug Mitchell, Kingston Records, Kingston NH.

Greek Picnic was recorded and mixed at the following locations:
Advance Music, Burlington VT; Chuck Eller Studio, Burlington VT;
Newbury Sound, Boston MA; Quantum Sound, Jersey City NJ;
Kingston Records, Kingston NH;
Collins, Lang & Connolly Broadcast Productions, Burlington VT;
Harry Thompson Studio, Essex Junction VT.

Miss Bliss continued to arrange and play material mainly written by their songwriter Diane Horstmyer.
Band members added their own original songs.

They frequented well known local venues, like Johnny D's, The Rat, Harvard University,
The Middle East, TT the Bear's. Miss Bliss toured the regional college and venue circuit, played
CMJ showcases, festivals, CBGB's in NYC and packed venues everywhere they went and gained
much radio play.

Circ 2000 brings the original Miss Bliss back to
Burlington Vermont USA for a reunion at Red Square.
1100 cases of Magic Hat's Miss Bliss beer was brewed
in the band's name every spring for three consecutive years.

To date, all Miss Bliss members are active with their individual
music project(s) or helping out on each others album or live show.
