ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Winner of the prestigious 2007 Hollywood FAME Award for Humanitarianism, the I'm Too Young For This! benefit CD (and survivor educational toolkit) features 21 original tracks composed by young adult recording artists who have been directly affected by cancer, either through their own personal diagnosis or that of a loved one.

The album's thematic diversity reflects that of its artists, each of whom shares a uniquely inspiring personal journey through their art. This project was a labor of love 3 years in the making. What it represents is not only hope, but the creative voice of united community of survivors who often feel they're the only one's out there.

Founded in 2007 by young adult survivors and for young adult survivors, the I'm Too Young For This! Cancer Foundation is a global leader in the fight against cancer working exclusively on behalf of survivors and their care providers under the age of 40. A TIME Magazine Best 50 Website for 2007, we have helped bring the cause of 'cancer under 40' to the national spotlight and rallied a brand new generation of activists to improve early detection, advocacy, research and support for this forgotten population.

"I wanted to create something radically different than other cancer benefit CDs," says Matthew Zachary, i[2]y Founder and young adult survivor. "Instead of simply slapping a pink ribbon on an existing compilation of songs by random pop artists, this project has deeper meaning and purpose as a practical educational tool that not only raises awareness for our mission but fulfills it simultaneously."

100% of all net proceeds benefit the foundation.

Soothing, introspective music
A wonderfully introspective collection of songs, where the artists convey their cancer experiences. Aside from the common theme of a cancer experience between them, the songs on this album are worth listening to.

This heartfelt work deepened my understanding of the inner struggle to accept a cancer diagnosis and then undergo treatment. The expressions of grief touched my soul. I am blessed to be the hearer of such emotional honesty.

Great music, cancer or not, but even more powerful...
This is great music whether or not the artists are cancer survivors, but their message is so powerful in light of their cancer experiences. I work with people with cancer everyday, and I can't wait to share this music with them. I know they'll be inspired and there's something for everyone on this disc!

Says it all...
For those families dealing with cancer in a young adult or child, the songs say it all. Each artist clearly expresses the feelings that the cancer patient and his family feels. In fact, it is so "on-the-mark" that it is sometimes difficult for me to make it through the entire CD without tears running down my cheeks. My son died from colorectal cancer at the age of 21, three months after he was diagnosed.
